Vermont Business Magazine The Vermont Federal Credit Union today joined more than 56,000 credit unions around the world in celebrating International Credit Union Day (ICU). ICU Day highlights the many ways credit unions around the world are helping their members improve their financial health and well-being.

To celebrate International Credit Union Day, team members from the Vermont Federal Credit Union delivered food and reusable tote bags to seven food shelves in northern Vermont.

“Credit unions were built on the principle of ‘people helping people,’ said Jean Giard, CEO. “Food insecurity in our great state is a big problem for us. Lack of access to sufficient food

due to limited financial resources is something that we want to reduce as much as possible in Vermont. “

For more than 100 years, credit unions have provided access to affordable financial products while striving to meet the needs of underserved communities. The Vermont Federal Credit Union is honored to be a part of this proud tradition.

The Vermont Federal Credit Union invites members and non-members to visit one of their seven branches to celebrate this day.

Vermont Federal is a more than $ 800 million financial institution, with seven locations currently serving over 45,000 members. Members are part of a cooperative, which means they share ownership of the credit union and elect a volunteer board of directors. The Vermont Federal Credit Union offers membership to anyone who lives, works, worship, or attends school in the state of Vermont. The Vermont Federal Credit Union is committed to supporting the communities it serves and making a life-changing difference in the lives of its members.
