It’s time to vote again for Community Credit Union Florida’s Athlete of the Week on 321preps.com and floridatoday.com.
The following athletes have been nominated for their performances from April 4-9. You will find the ballot at the bottom of the page. Make sure to refresh if the poll is not visible on first load. The vote will be open until Thursday noon.
Coaches and athletic directors are invited to nominate athletes each week. Email the athlete’s accomplishments from the previous Monday through Saturday to [email protected] by 10 a.m. each Monday.
Here are this week’s nominees:
Landon Almonte, Cocoa Beach Lacrosse
Almonte scored 14 goals and assisted nine more last week in three games won by the Minutemen, who ended the week 13-2.
Emanne Beasha, Tennis Cocoa Beach
Beacha won matches against Merritt Island opponents Christian and Viera last week, finishing his regular season 13-0 in third place in singles.
Maya Boysen, satellite tennis
Boysen won two No. 1 singles matches and two No. 1 doubles matches last week against Lake Highland Prep and Edgewood.
Antonio Caito, Track and Field Astronaut
Caito won the triple jump at Astronaut on Friday with the third-best 2A performance in the state this year, 44 feet, 5 1/2 inches, also leading the winning 4×100 and 4×400 relays.
Logan Chapman, Space Coast Athletics
Chapman won the 1,600 meters in 10:08.24 and the 3,200 in 10:08.24 at Astronaut on Friday. He also participated in the second 4×400 relay.
Paige Jaszczak, Titusville Athletics
Jaszczak won the 800 meters in 2:31.41 and the 1,600 meters in 5:23.78 Friday at Astronaut High.
Jaeden McMillan, Holy Trinity Athletics
McMillan won the 110 hurdles with the ninth best time in Class 1A (15.93 seconds), the 300 hurdles with his 13th best (42.68) at Astronaut on Friday.
Jake Richardson, Melbourne baseball
Richardson hit safely five of eight at bats last week, hitting three doubles. He drove in seven runs in two games, homered and stole two bases.
Jaida Williams-Goins, Rockledge Athletics
Williams-Goins won the 300-meter hurdles in 46.12 seconds Friday at Bishop Moore in Orlando. She also jumped in length 17 feet 9 inches.
